Lord God, we know that “a man is a slave to whatever has mastered
him” (2 Peter 2:19). We have all seen the destructive effects of drugs on
people we know and love. We pray against this scourge within our lands. Today
we also celebrate a small victory in this battle against drug addiction. We
rejoice that Thai police were able to confiscate 80 pounds of crystal
methamphetamine that were hidden in treadmills that were to be shipped to
Japan. We ask your blessing on those who tipped off police. We also commend the
police officers who had the courage to pursue the leads to not only the
treadmills, but also to the warehouse, discovering another 310 pounds. We pray
for this particular drug ring to be shut down. And we pray for Thai police to have
many more successes as they strive to eliminate illegal drugs from the market.
In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
