Prayer about shipwreck near Crete

https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20210723-turkey-and-greece-search-for-missing-after-migrant-boat-sinks Heavenly Father, we pray as the rescue operation continues in hopes of recovering all passengers from a sunken sailboat near Crete. We are grateful for the 37 survivors, and we pray for the safe return of the remaining eight passengers who are still missing. We thank you for the efforts from the Hellenic Coast Guard and the Turkish Navy. We pray that these entities will work together cooperatively. Please calm the winds and the waves so that their rescue mission is unimpeded. Lord, we learned that most aboard the boat were migrants from Iraq and Syria. This calls attention to a larger problem: Middle Eastern conflict. Father, we continue to pray for your peace to break through the chaos. For those fleeing the region, please provide safe passage. We pray over the tension between Turkey and the European Union as they disagree on how to best handle this refugee crisis. Drive the leaders toward humility and collaboration; pour out your wisdom on those making decisions. Lord, you hear the cries of those who seek you. We pray for your intervention in this time of great need. In Jesus’ name, amen.
